Kitchen Sink and Faucet

This is the DREAM kitchen sink I want. It is a Kallista for Loft by Michael S. Smith. Very spendy at around $1900.00

These are the other two options I showed my husband as possible sinks. A Kohler K-6489-0 Whitehaven

and a Rohl RC3618WH.

He said he preferred the biggest sink.

And this is the DREAM faucet I want. It is a Waterstone Gantry Faucet. Also around $1900.00.

These were the two options I showed him as other possible faucets.

Talked it over with my husband and he said to include the big sink and the big faucet in the plans. Yes! One happy wife here.

Talk about a high-low kitchen. Might have to rethink Ikea Cabinets and Formica Countertops. Yikes!

Doors and Hardware

I would like the room and closet doors to be like this one in style. We will have to have them custom ordered from the Home Depot since it is a taller door that is specified on the plans than what is in stock for delivery.

For the handles, I would like these from Lowes. They are called Baldwin Colonial. They also make dummy passage handles so we could use those for the closets.

I haven't thought too much about the exterior doors yet except for the fact we will need to change the front doors on the plans. It is a single door with sidelights and we want a double door probably with no sidelights.

Country Manor Kitchen

I would really love to get all the bells and whistles and maybe someday if I win the lottery maybe I will. But for now what is realistic for the time being would be the following choices.

Sink: Kohler K-6489 Single Bowl Tall Apron 899.99

Sink Faucet: Kraus KPF-1602 Chrome 299.99

Would love marble countertops but definitely not in the budget so I choose Formica for now then maybe update them later down the road.

Tile for backsplash: All from The Builder Depot except for the floor tile.

Tile for inset area behind stove underneath fan:

Border around the above tile:

Floor Tile: Barrique Fonce from Porcelain Tile Outlet, this will be anywhere the architect specified wood on the original plans. Once we get to the point of having the architect update the plans, this tile will be specified instead of wood. 8x40 size tile.

Kitchen Cabinets: Debating on having them built vs Ikea vs another option from some other undiscovered vendor. Definitely white, maybe inset, but something in this style. Love the bulk head moulding.

Something simple like this for the Range Hood

Hardware for cabinets:

Pendants for over the island:

Country Manor House Plans Revisited

This is a plan from Allison Ramsey Architects. We kind of like it. There would be modifications made to both the interior floor plan and the facade.

Here is the main floor plan. The kitchen would need to be enlarged also the pantry would be a bit bigger with no sink. Also the stove would be a range so we would have to get that out of the island. We would like to close that outdoor patio in the middle to gain square feet.  The library we would like to make it maybe 1 and a half stories so that would change that middle part in the above facade picture. The master bath tub area would be enlarged to accommodate the large soaker tub we found.

Here is the 2nd floor plan: Not too much to change here except relocate the entrance of the guest room to the wall where the stairs come up and to make that sitting room into a home theater room for hubby.

So for a reboot this isn't a bad plan and more realistic since I would like to have a few chickens, cows and a couple of dogs. Maybe a horse if I can convince my better half.

Starting over.....

I kind of gave up on this blog. I couldn't figure out how to get the pictures from Pinterest to show up here so I will have to go back to somehow getting them stored somewhere else and post them here. So please have patience as I start slowly rebuilding.
